IT Dashboard is a user interface that provides summarized information necessary for analysis and further decision making. Through using IT dashboard, company managers and executives gain the ability to view the performance details of some object or entity (such as process, product, project, etc.) in real time and to track progress over time.
IT dashboard is a general term. It does not refer to any specific control panel or functionality. It is just an extended reporting feature available in a kind of business management software. IT dashboards are used in managing business objects that can be assessed against pre-determined performance measures and indicators.
IT dashboard visualizes a subset of data on a single computer screen. It reports about performance information regarding an object that is critical for the business activities of an organization. For example, purchase orders can be presented as an object that can be measured against a range of performance indicators (such as Cycle Time, Order Accuracy, Customer Claims, and much more). IT dashboard will use those indicators to create a visual report about the performance of purchase orders over time.
