Interdependent Task is a task that is performed by all members of the group assigned to this task. Such a task requires joint effort and collaborative work of the group to reach success. It also entails use of common resources available to the group.
Teamwork is the key condition for an interdependent task to be performed. A collaborative and productive group of people which has the ability to work as a team will perform interdependent tasks effectively. Members of this group need to share information, materials, and expertise amongst each other to do their interdependent tasks.
Interdependent tasks are usually delegated to groups that have sufficient resources. The contribution of each group member should ensure effective use of resources in order for interdependent tasks to be completed. Examples of resources are time, knowledge, funds, technology etc.
Interdependent tasks can be assigned to group roles shared between several or more members. Each group role may include a series of interdependent tasks, and related group members need to work as a team to do their roles and complete interdependent tasks.
