What is Process Automation?

Process Automation is a general term used to describe an attempt to make a certain process automated and less dependent on external factors through implementing and using electronic, technical and computerized tools and solutions. It refers to a preset procedure that identifies how to increase process performance while minimizing human intervention and time required for delivering the process. 

A process becomes automated when it is performed with less effort of people involved. Computers, systems and various mechanisms and equipment make it possible to reach and maintain an automated working environment in which work is done by processes that require minimized and no human effort and time. 

The greatest benefit of process automation is that it is possible to reach working environment effectiveness because a typical piece of work requires fewer human resources and lower human involvement. Meanwhile, process automation is mainly applicable to routine or repetitive work. Specific and unique work cannot be automated effectively because it requires more effort and involvement of people.
