Process Data is a body of gathered facts and reasonable assumptions about a specific process. It identifies and defines the process through creating an informational platform that establishes a direct link between the process’s parameters, including inputs, outputs and resources. Process data is the key source of information necessary for initiating and managing the process.
Process data is essential in understanding how to start, implement and deliver processes. Through analysis of process data it is possible to figure out if a process is provided with sufficient resources (process resource data) necessary to transform inputs (process input data) into outputs (process output data). Process data also helps define status of process performance at any given point in time.
Process data is always measurable and limited. Besides, it is:
- Ready for use once verified
- Accurate and timely
- Specific and organized for a particular purpose
- Relevant and reasonable
- Leading to an increase in understanding and decrease in uncertainty.
