Project Relevance is a statement of benefits to be gained and problems to be resolved with a help of the project. Project Relevance is a project’s abstract which is understandable both to lay people and advanced professionals. The point of writing a “Project Relevance” statement is to:
- Provide the readers with a brief explanation of reasons why the project has been started and why it should keep existing (who and why requires it);
- How the successful performance of the project is expected to result into rectifying the explained problematic situation (a set of pending issues to be gradually resolved);
- Benefits to be gained in a short-term prospect and over the prolonged period of time;
Project Relevance is used in the following situations:
- When people struggle for grants and attention of sponsors: they need to introduce their projects in a brief and definite manner to impress the sponsors;
- When people need to introduce their projects to a wide audience of lay people: from a web-site, in special brochures, etc;
- When project stakeholders want to attract more of attention and support from some institutions, funds, private persons, etc;
