Project Reliability is a degree to which a project is considered as safe for investments and expected results. Project Reliability can be considered as indirect indicator for quality of the planning, as far as good planning allows the team members to seamlessly fulfill their commitments on the project performance: to obtain X results at Y costs and within Z time. In other words, the better project is planned, the safer its stakeholders can feel with their investments – the higher is project reliability. Project reliability may mean the following project traits:
- Low risks: the project risks are well-studied, assessed and mitigated;
- Well-elaborated plan: the plan of work is well-deliberated and well-proved in all respects;
- Done before: the same project has been done before, so its team keeps to the beaten track;
- Powerful team: the project team is skillful, experienced, professional, and motivated;
- Powerful support: the project is well-supported by authorities (government support, etc);
