Project Sheet is a condensed documented statement that shows the starting position of a project in terms of the key constraints such as Time, Cost and Quality. It summarizes project work, outlines project scope, and serves as a quick list of facts about the project.
Project sheet is designed at a starting project phase (e.g. Initiation, Startup, Conceptualization, Pre-project, others) to define the project in terms of time, cost and quality. The constraints identify basic project characteristics, including:
- Rationale and benefits
- Project overall duration or time length
- Goals and objectives
- General activities
- Estimated costs
- Basic quality requirements
- Potential risks
- Deliverables and acceptance criteria
Project sheet is a very simplified version of scope statement. Just like scope statement, it is intended to characterize a project by the key constraints. Meanwhile, project sheet is very short and does not identify project boundaries, requirements, assumptions, and other parameters particular to project scope. Sometimes, it is used as an addendum to scope statement.
