Project Transition is a process of handing a project over from its major developers to its expected supporters, implementers, or the customers. Project transition takes place after the development team finalizes its part of work, so its members can abdicate responsibility for their major duties (as the project’s results are accepted by the customer), while the further responsibility for the project’s success should be gradually transited to the people occupying the next levels of project management chain – usually these people are project supporters and implementers (specialists who will provide practical assistance and training to the end users). Once the development team begins to finalize its work (including project design, development, production, and testing of the process results), the contacts and collaboration with the project supporters and implementers need to be established for the following purposes:
- Train people to operate the project results (for example newly created software);
- Prepare and hand over user manuals and other supportive documentation;
- Establish Quality Assurance function to continually improve the project results;
- Instruct people on safety guidelines, technological approaches and risks;
- Train people to diagnose, handle and response issues;
- Transfer any other essential knowledge on the project;
