Project Undertaking is a term that usually refers to an agreement to perform a project: a contractor gives an official guaranty to a customer (or a project committee) to make sure that they will get the project completed and all other associated commitments fulfilled as appropriate to project plan and contract (as far as they verify that they have everything necessary at hands). In fact this conception can be expanded by listing all actions and assumptions that precede dealing up such an agreement. To undertake some project, its performers need to have the following things complete:
- Agents and organizations connected with the project are ready to provide their support;
- Project Management Committee is staffed with all necessary representatives;
- Fundraising campaign is complete (funding is requested and provided by sponsors);
- Acquisition list is complete, verified, and all tendering procedures are in place;
- Detailed plans, work specifications and requirements are prepared and verified;
- Constraints are approved and accepted as reasonable and feasible within given resources;
- All additional contractors are engaged and ready to provide their services;
