Schedule Compliance is a time management measure that proves how well employees adhere to their schedules. The measure is designed to determine whether an amount of scheduled work is performed as desired by assigned workers who are supposed to do their tasks and jobs in the way that ensures compliance with the scheduled work period. It is usually calculated on either a daily or weekly basis and is expressed as a percent.
The measure of schedule compliance is computed by the following formula:
Scheduled Work Done
Schedule Compliance = ------------------------------------------- x 100%
Total Time Available to Schedule
The formula shows that as more jobs and tasks are performed (Scheduled Work Done) within the scheduled time period (Total Time Available to Schedule) as greater the compliance is.
Compliance of a schedule shows effectiveness of the work scheduling process. If an employee performs assigned tasks in compliance with scheduled hours, then most likely the work scheduling process is effective. In case the employee fails to complete the work, then the manager needs to take necessary actions to correct the situation, perhaps through re-scheduling or work delegation.
