Task Deployment is a plan utilized to move task objects (tools, materials, resources, etc) from the company’s inventory into the task performance environment. Task deployment includes:
- The working procedures put in place;
- Controls established over processes;
- Task performers assigned and empowered;
- Requirements (task specifications) developed and communicated to the performers;
- Equipment and tools ready for operation;
Task deployment schema is usually developed as a flexible strategy (regulated by task performers) that recognizes the environmental variability (a need to make immediate on-site decisions without addressing the higher management levels). Task deployment is a process that focuses on a need to maintain efficiency despite the variable environmental input, so the task performers operate within certain constraints, using certain guidelines and decision-making framework.
Task deployment policy is normally based upon the following:
- Ongoing analysis of task performance environment (task site monitoring);
- Configuring task options and execution plan according to environmental input;
- Deployment of task objects in a manner adjusted to environmental situation;
