Project management program definition: it is a computer-based tool (whether a single or multiuser solution) that provides functionality sufficient for planning, tracking or reporting projects. In order to select right solution for your setup, you need to define your main goals (why you need this software), some variants:

  • Simple planning tasks and time over the project (scheduling software);
  • Assigning tasks to team members and control statusing of tasks ( job tracking software);
  • Financial forecasting and integration with billing systems ( budgeting software);
  • Sharing tasks, documents and other work-related information with the team (collaboration tool);

When you try to select a software program, you need to attentively read the descriptions, as there you can find some references to their main features, such as inbuilt collaborative module, database sharable via the Internet, web-based interface, advanced document management capabilities, etc. Take a look at screenshots and supportive materials to make sure they are profound and rich enough, also check if email support service works promptly, and if the web-site is strengthen by a live-chat service (then you can login into it to get immediate answers for some of your questions).
