Office Angels, office and secretarial recruitment provider, conducted survey which showed that 53% of UK workers feel stressed, anxious and concerned about their workload the week before their holidays, and 77% of them feel the positive effects of their time away only for three days after they return to work (not taking into account workaholic 15% feel good only when they return to work).
Each second worker said that he had a happy holiday only if he had colleagues in the office he could rely on. However 76% fail to have a happy time away because they stay in contact with the office by leaving their mobile and blackberry switched on. To make the most of their break workers should make sure that colleagues are aware of any outstanding work or potential problems. Here are some tips for having a worry-free break during your holiday:
· Take a ten days vacation as it seems to be an optimal time period for the perfect holiday.
· Do a thorough handover to colleagues before you go as it is the only way to de-clutter your mind of any work worries
· When return to work, start planning the next trip as it is probably the best 'pick-me-up'
