Project management timelines are chronological structures or maps of project activities and tasks to be accomplished according to schedule. Examples of project management timelines are any project schedules (or calendars) where the project workflow is mapped out in matters of tasks’ durations, target dates, project milestones, start and finish dates of project stages, etc. A multi-level schedule of interrelated successive tasks and/or simultaneously running activities is called project management timeline Gantt chart that illustrates a project work along the timescale. Timeline may represent the whole range and set of tasks and activities that lie on the path from the project’s start (initiation) to the prospective completion date – it depends on the level of details which were preset. So we can say that the timeline examples vary from simple timelines that don’t need any specific skills to be drawn, to complex ones requiring profound project management knowledge.
