Organizations which have unbalanced and uncoordinated workflows often suffer from negative consequences of task overlapping. The task overlap is a situation when an employee, because of a set of reasons, cannot perform one task and start doing another one while the first task is still being in progress. Such situation results in overdue tasks and procrastinations. The reasons for task overlapping lie in the following:
- not enough time has been allocated to completing tasks
- the employee has faced the work overload issue because his manager has made mistakes in task assignments
- the employee couldn't organize his tasks in effective manner
- poor delegation opportunities have been implemented in the team
- a lack of proper coordination and close connection between the team members and the team leader
The negative influence of these reasons may force the employees to procrastinate tasks, do fewer jobs and reduce the job quality. The elimination of the reasons is vital for preventing the task overlaps and avoiding task procrastinations. By using VIP Task Manager, the issue of the task overlapping can be overcome. The Calendar view allows to schedule tasks in an effective manner. The employees will get a to-do list where each task has due date, priority and resource assignment. The manager or team leader can track work overload and task procrastinations in the to-do list. In Task Tree view he can delegate tasks from one employee to another. If needed, the manager can comment tasks of a team member and leave recommendations to the task. VIP Task Manager allows to coordinate tasks of the team in real time and receive pop-up or e-mail notifications.
