Each company belongs to a specific business field. Its workflow includes tasks which may need some specific features. For example, in your Sales department you would like to customize tasks to get more information about a purchase request. So you may need to know purchase order, invoiced price, ordered quantity, name of customer, assigned employees and some other information. Task customization allows you to match tasks to the needs of your department and get comprehensive information on the purchase request. The more you customize the tasks in your department the more effective workflow you can arrange.
In VIP Task Manager you can customize tasks by using custom fields. Besides standard task fields (e.g. “Name”, “Due date”, “Assignment”) which are particular to any task management software, VIP Task Manager allows you to get additional benefits from creating own fields and using calculations for the tasks. For example, you can create such new task columns as “Purchase order”, “Price”, “Quantity”, “Budget”, “Speeding”, and more. For example, to calculate the total revenue from sold products, you can create new custom field “Sales volume” and calculate it as multiplication between the custom fields ”Price” and “Quantity”. Custom fields can be set for tasks as well as for task groups.
Action plan:
- Start VIP Task Manager software
- To add new task field, go to Custom Field Editor
- When creating a new field, input name, field type and formula. When it is done, press Ok button to save changes
- Display the new custom fields in your task list. You can group tasks by these fields in Task List View
