Task Monitoring – Track Information on Current Status and Results of Tasks

Task Monitoring is the second step in creating task analytics. This step aggregates and analyzes gathered data about tasks to create a kind of presentation for decision making.  It usually provides a real-time performance summary of activities to decision makers that must review this summary, identify performance gaps, and generate improvement solutions.

Task monitoring serves as an analytical mechanism to track information about current state and results of tasks in real-time mode. Task analysis is used as the basis for task monitoring. Through analyzing tasks and their attributes analysts understand what effects one task causes to other task(s). Task analysis indicates dependencies between activities and shows performance gaps in task flows. It results in creating a performance status summary that explains what issues are pending and what improvement solutions can be implemented.
